The department of Anesthesiology closely collaborates in multicenter investigations with peripheral hospitals in the Netherlands, including the Westfriesgasthuis Hoorn, MC Alkmaar, Spaarne ziekenhuis Hoofddorp, St. Lucas Andreas Ziekenhuis, Zaans Medisch Centrum, MC Leeuwarden, and the departments of Anesthesiology of the UMCU, AMC, UMCN, MUMC+ en UMCG . We established a translational research collaboration with the department of Intensive Care and Cell Biology & Pathology of the UMCG/UG. 

For the purpose of the alliance between VUmc -AMC the collaboration between the departments of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine of the AMC is intensified. In the future, it is anticipated that this cooperation will be organized such that this will result in projects in the field of education and scientific research.
