Disputes and scientific integrity
The supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the PhD candidate and shall ensure that the PhD candidate conducts his/her research independently. During the PhD trajectory, the supervisor and PhD candidate shall consult periodically as agreed in the Training and Supervision Plan. The easiest and most convenient way to solve a problem relating to the doctoral studies is to discuss it directly with the supervisor and/or promotor. It is important to make a record of this communication.
If a problem becomes insurmountable, VUmc can help you to find a solution. Please consult the PhD portal for more information about problems in relation to scientific integrity, contract / employment-related issues and harassment. You can also consult the CCA consultant prof. dr. Bernard Uitdehaag (bmj.uitdehaag@vumc.nl). Of course, all consultations are confidential.
Problems in the field of the PhD Training & Education programme can be discussed with the chair of the CCA and AI&II education committee (Professor René Leemans; cr.leemans@vumc.nl). Problems about supervision can be discussed with professors Arjan Griffioen and/or Bauke Ylstra (aw.griffioen@vumc.nl, b.ylstra@vumc.nl).
