- Quality of life
Cancer Center Amsterdam (CCA) is a national and international leading center for cancer research and treatment.
The distinctive red and blue blocks on the Amsterdam highway contain approximately 400 cancer researchers. All disciplines work together in multidisciplinairy teams to gain better results.
New methods are developed to prevent, detect, diagnose and treat and preferably cure cancer.
Patients at VU University Medical Center benefit from the physical proximity of this high quality research facility: results are brought to the patient directly. In the new diagnosis and treatment center, opened in September 2011 with help of sponsors and over 100.000 dutch people, the patient is mostly diagnosed within 48 hours and personalized treatment will be started.
Cancer Center Amsterdam wants to ensure that patients receive the most effective treatment and care, and thus the best chance of recovery. Quality of life is central, during the disease and when cure is no longer possible; we will support patients and their relatives to remain in optimal mental and physical condition. Tailored programs on exercise, nutrition and physical care are offered in our lifestyle center.
