In the hospital you will find a self-service restaurant, food dispensers, a bookshop, a gift shop, a hairdresser and a sanctuary. An ecumenical service is held each Sunday in the chapel.  

As a guest of the Gastenverblijf you have the privilege of being able to use the staff restaurant "Het Plein" and the coffee bar. The restaurant is opened daily from 10.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Hot meals are served on weekdays from 11.30 a .m. tot 2.30 p.m. and from 4.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. The coffee bar is open Monday through Friday from 8.00 a .m. to 5.30 p.m.    

The office of the University Clinic General Practitioner VUmc (UHP) is situated near the hospital. Should you need to consult a general practitioner, then you need to call between 8.00 a .m. and noon to make an appointment (telephone number 020 444 1400). All consults need to be paid in cash on-site.

The pharmacy situated in the outpatient clinic has a wide variety of prescription medications in stock as well as some basic over-the-counter drugs. The primary goal of the pharmacy is to serve the visitors of the outpatient clinic, but guests of the Gastenverblijf are also welcome to come.  

In the immediate surroundings you can take a walk to the Hortus Botanicus and the Amsterdamse Bos. A supermarket for your daily groceries is also nearby.
